This James Wylie was born in Ireland, came to the USA with his wife, Sarah McKinney, and four of their children. He lived and died in South Carolina.767, the ship "Earl of Donegal" arrived at the Port of Charles Town, South Carolina from Donegal, Ireland. Duncan Ferguson was the Master of the Ship. The "Earl" carried passengers from Ireland to South Carolina who had been encouraged by the Bounty Act passed by the General Assembly of the Colony in 1761. Immigrants had to possess certificates showing that they were Protestants and entitled to receive the benefits stipulated in the Act.uot;Peggie", 9; Samuel, 6; and John, 4.
