WILLMAR - Funeral sevices for Donald H. Haug, prominent farm implement dealer in this area, have been set for Thursday at 2;30 p.m. at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Officiating will be the Rev. Michael Mersey, pastor of St. John's
Lutheran church at Pennock, the congregation where Haug was a life-long member. Burial will be at St. John's Church Cemetery.
Donald H. Haug, 61, of Willmar, died unexpectedly early Tuesday at Rice hospital following an extended illness. For over 40 years he was engaged in the farm implement business as a John Deere dealer and currently owner of the Haug Implement
ment of Willmar, a business firm that is now in the hand of the third generation. The firm was first operated by Haug's father, the late G. C. Haug, who purchased the business at Pennock in 1918. Later the firm moved to Kerkhoven, where it
continued in business from 1960 to 1972, when operation moved to Willmar, where the business is located on East Highway 12.
Haug was an active member of his community and his church. He was a life-long member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Pennock, where he served in numerous positions of leadership including president and secretary of the church council. He He
served as mayor of Pennock and was a member of thPennock Fire Department. In Kerkhoven, he served as president of the Kerkhoven Commercial Cluib and was a long time member of the American Legion both at Kerkhoven and at Willmar.
On May 17, 1938 he was united in marriage to Jean Laraway and they observed their 40th wedding anniversary in 1978.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Donald Jr.; and three grandchildren, Kari, Kris and Gundar Paal.
Also surviving are four brothers, Canton of Willmar, Russell of Merced, Calif., Luverne of Excelsior, and Frank of St. Paul; and four sisters, Mrs. Dave Dunning (Violet) of Sun City West, Ariz., Mrs. Lloyd Peterson (Gladys) of Denver, Colo.,
lo., Mrs. Ed Thielen (Myrtle) of Mineapolis, and Mrs. Robert Burmaster (Rosella) of Hopkins.
Visitation will be at the Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar after 1 p.m. Wednesday and at the church for one hour before the services.
