Information provided by various family members: Avis Bergesen Christiansen lived in Chicago all her life and was a prolific poet. Lots of her poems were set to music by several hymn writers over her 80-90 years. She was recognized as a gifted poet as a young girl and encouraged to keep writing. She wrote a lovely poem to Aunt Helen upon Grandpa (Olof) Larson's death.
Avis was a second cousin to Grandma (Margaret) Larson.
Grandma (Margaret) Larson worked in her later years doing home nursing for Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Bowles to get social security for herself and Grandpa, so they would hopefully, never have to go to the "poor farm". Maybe they knew, from Uncle Angel's experience, it was a place where a person did not receive adequate care.
