It is believed that this m. relates to the ancestor, as his first son is named Andrew, and the witness, Wm. Archibald, at his m. was likely his brother, since Wm. was also of Scoonie p. when he m. in Wemyss p. in 1736. Also, John was a colier of Durie coal hill, Scoonie p., when he m., and this is the same locality where his father earlier was reported as a resident.
