So I know from the naturalization petition of Pauline that the full address in the census is:

salesman, working at drugs
(meaning: pharmacy).

Wife Lillian Bronstein 27. Born circa 1903, Poland. Parents born in Poland.

Immigrated 1906.. Age at first marriage: 21.

I will assume that this is the first marriage of Louis and Lillian and
and hence that they married 6 years before the census, i.e. circa 1924.

Sister In Law Pauline Shaynkin 32. Born circa 1898, Russia. parents born in

Russia. Divorced. Immigrated 1914. Occupation nurse, working at a doctor.

Niece Zena Shaynkin 5. She is niece to head of household. Born circa 1925, NY.

Parents born in Russia.

Son Alvin Bronstein 1. Born circa 1929, NY.

What happened was that Pauline divorced and went to live with her brother Louis when the census was taken.
Pauline immigrated in 1914 as Perle Brunstein, but the whole family changed the last name spelling to Bronstein, and Perle changed her name to Pauline. Other family members picked first names that were more American. E.g. Leiser -> Louis, Godalje -> Gabriel, etc.

In the census, Pauline should be listed as sister and not sister-in-law.
It makes sense because there is some deletion by pen over her relationship
to head of household.

Already the name is spelled Zina here and not Zena
It's interesting that 10 years have passed and Zina is still living here,
with Louis and Lillian. Her mother Pauline was not surveyed here.
