Information from Steve Lawson: York Co., SC was at that time old Mecklenburg Co., NC. A birth date of Dec. 18, 1701 is given, but may be that of his fatheras it seems too early for one whose children were born in the 1740-1760 period.Evidence indicates Samuel was from Lancaster Co,. His will was written 28 Jul 1774 in Camden District, SC and names his wife Sarah and all his children.
