Military
Felix Kenyon Fipps served Company D. 20th Regiment North Carolina Troops. Originally the 10th North Carolina Troops until reorganized April 1861, nicknamed the Columbus Guards #4, Men From Columbus County,under command of JB Stanley. Felix service records describe him as five feet, 10 inches tall. He enlisted on April the 26th 1861 at Whiteville, Columbus County with his brother Waterman Fipps and served with him in the same company. He was listed as POW November the seventh 1863 at Rappahonnock River, Virginia. Confined at Point Lookout MD (estimated day) on November the tenth 1863. Felix was exchanged February the twenty 1865 at Cox's Wharf, Virginia. He was present February the twenty-eighth 1865 at Camp Lee, Virgina. Thur most of Felix's military career he served as a Surgeon's Orderly.
