Isaac J. Hardee, born 1820, married Martha J., born 1826, and died 1869, and had had issue as following: Mary A. Hardee born 1848, Elizabeth Hardee, born 1849, Eliza A. Hardee, born 1850, Jackson J. The above by B. Ottis Prince, from his book ( The Hardee`s Of Horry County, South Carolina.)
In the 1850 Horry County, census Isaac J. Hardee, is listed as head of household # 26, with his wife Martha, and his children, he is living next door to his father # 25, and to his brother # 27, Calvin Pinkney Hardee.
In the 1860 Horry County, census, household # 726, Isaac Hardee, along with his wife Martha J., and 7 children, is living next door to Wilson Hardee, # 725, (Are they brothers????) Ages would fit, and his father is living next door # 727,
In the 1870 Horry County, census of Conwayboro Township, Isaac J. Hardee, is listed as head of household # 12, with his family, the oldest female is a Elizabeth Hardee, age 25, I belive this is his daughter Elizabeth rather than his wife, she would be to young for all his children except probably the last 3, so I belive he is a widow at this time, he is listed as a farmer.
In the 1880 Columbus County, census of Lee`s Township, Isaac Hardee, is head of household # 197, no wife, but has children, the youngest is Benjamin, who is only 9 month old, by this it would seem that Isaac`s wife would have been dead less than a year. Isaac, is listed as working turpentine. (WSH)
