NICHOLS - James Fred Floyd, 76, of the Pleasant View community, diedTuesday, June 15, 1999, at Loris Community Hospital after an illness.
He was born June 12, 1923, in Loris, a son of the late Jessie Obie Floydand Florrie Gause Floyd.
He was a Navy veteran. Mr. Floyd was a retired tobacco farmer and aretired owner and operator of the Fred-Rick Motel in Myrtle Beach. He wasa member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, where he served as past deacon.
Mr. Floyd also was a former board member of Horry Electric Cooperative;member of Masonic Lodge No. 205; and member of Omar Shrine Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Rena Currie Floyd of Nichols; two sons,William ``Freddie'' Floyd of Conway and Ricky Floyd of Nichols; fivebrothers, Clyde Floyd of Little River, Wayne Floyd and Charles Floyd,both of Myrtle Beach, Jimmy Floyd and Bryan Floyd, both of North MyrtleBeach; and four sisters, Pauline Campbell and Ruby Stanley, both ofLoris, Sylvia Bredden of North Myrtle Beach and Mildred Jordan ofCharlotte.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Pleasant View Baptist Church. TheRevs. Rick Watson and James C. Shelley will officiate. Burial will be inTwin City Memorial Gardens.
