James H. Harrelson, (Pvt. Co. K. SC. Inf. CSA ) and his wife Patience, are buried in a cemetery of unknown name ( West from Loris, SC, onHighway # 9, to Sister Road, turn right). Cemetery cataloged by RonnieGraham, Of Tabor City, NC.
In the 1870 Horry County, census of Green Sea Township, J. H. Harrelson,is listed as head of household # 975, with his wife Patience, and 8 children, he is listed as a farmer, born in North Carolina.
In the 1880 Horry County, census of Green Sea Township, James H.Harrelson is listed as bead of household # 195, with his wife Patience, and 4 children, he is listed as a farmer. He is listed as born in NC, o a SC, father, and a NC, mother.
In the 1900 Horry County, census of Green Sea Township, James H.Harrelson, is listed as head of household # 282, with his wife Patience, they are listed as being married 50 years, Patience, is listed as having had no children ( I believe this is a mistake on the part of the census taker who is her son Benjamin P. Harrelson.) This must be correct, as I have recently found in the research work of Mrs. Irene Charlton, in her Harrelson book, page 284, she states that James H. Harrelson, was married twice first to Ann Skipper, b. 1829, and 2nd. to Patience Lewis. This would explain why the census taker (her step son Benjamin P.Harrelson, would list it that way he did.)
