CERRO GORDO, N.C. _ Connie B. Strickland, 88, died Friday, April 9, 1999, at home.

She was a daughter of the late Charlie and Lucy Buffkin.

She was the widow of E. Leamon Strickland.

Survivors include five daughters, Ethelle Strickland of Alexandria, Va., Bell Ivey and Debbie Greene, both of Cerro Gordo, Linda Collins of Chadbourn, N.C., Joyce Trujillo of Colorado; four sons, Gilbert Strickland and Gene Strickland, both of Cerro Gordo, Jimmy Strickland of Chadbourn, and Jerry Strickland of Whiteville, N.C.; a brother, Beamon Buffkin of Tabor City, N.C.; three sisters, Artie King of Tabor City, Estelle Wochensky of Williamsville, N.Y., and Ellen Stanley of Troy, N.C.; 33 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Meares Funeral Home of Fair Bluff, N.C.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Cerro Gordo Baptist Church. The Rev. David Jones, the Rev. Ken Baker and the Rev. Tim Moore will officiate. Burial will be in Gapway Cemetery.

The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Monday in Cerro Gordo Baptist Church by the Revs. David Jones, Ken Baker and Tim Moore. Burial will be in Gapway Cemetery.
