Alice's father is identified as Thomas de Lucy of Cockermouth, who isotherwise hard to identify. The Thomas de Lucy who I have portrayed asThomas' father was, according to CP, in a legal contest to obtain rightsto Cockermouth, which he must have eventually succeeded in doing; for hisheirs held Cockermouth. The father Thomas is too old to have been fatherof Alice. CP states that Thomas had a son named Thomas who diedsupposedly without issue just before 24 Aug 1308. That son Thomas was, according to CP, aged 24 years (or more) on Ascension Day (27 May) 1305,which would make him born about 1281. This younger Thomas de Lucy'syounger brother Anthony became 1st Baron de Lucy and held Cockermouth, according to CP. As Thomas senior was involved in a lawsuit in 1250, hewas probably born about 1225, which would make him pretty old to have ason & heir apparent born in 1281. So maybe this is his son Thomas (andhe was born much earlier than the 1281 indicated by CP), or there was ageneration of Thomas de Lucy that was missed by CP, being a generationbetween Thomas senior & younger.
The Thomas de Lucy of Cockermouth, father of Alice, was obviously part ofthis family. Which generation he fits into is open to question, but Ithink that my portrayal is as good as can be surmised.
does not give his ancestry, father of Alice
