He [John Tiptoft] married, 3rdly, circa September 1467, at Ludlow, Salop,Elizabeth, widow of Sir Roger CORBET, of Moreton Corbet, Salop (diedshortly before 16 June 1467), sister and heir of Walter HOPTON, ofHopton, Salop, daughter of Thomas HOPTON, of the same, by Eleanor, sisterand (in her issue) coheir of Sir William Lucy, of Newington, Kent, andRichard's Castle, co. Hereford, daughter of Sir Walter Lucy, of the same.He died intestate 18 October 1470, aged 43, and was buried in the Churchof the Black Friars by Ludgate. M.I. there. Effigy (with two of hiswives) and monument in Ely Cathedral. His widow married, 3rdly, before 7December 1471, as his 2nd wife, Sir William STANLEY, K.G. (youngerbrother of Thomas, 1st EARL OF DERBY), who was found guilty of treasonfor his support of Perkin Warbeck and beheaded, 16 February 1494/5, onTower Hill. She died 22 June 1498.
