Just to fill in the blanks: Robert French died on December 8, 1912; Lucretia on January 14, 1928 (as reported in pension record below; Robert's dod supported by notice in Holmes County Advertiser, Bonifay, Florida: "Saturday, December 14, 1912, In the death of "Uncle Bob" French and Mr. Clayton Reynolds our community has lost two more valuable and highly respected citizens, both of whom died Sunday night and were buried at the camp ground cemetery Tuesday," although his headstone reportedly reads 1913. Lucretia's date of death on headstone is given just as 1928).I'm also going to suggest that Lucretia's middle initial in the category heading should be changed from "C" to "A." From her gravestone, her middle name was "Ann," which is also supported by appearing as "Crissey A." in the 1860 Census.Her names in the records are as follows: 1850 Census, Lucretia; 1860 Census Crissey A.; 1870 Lucretia C.; 1880 Chrise; 1900 Lucretia; 1910 Chrissie; 1920 Cressie; Civil War pension application appears as Cressie and Crissie;* 1928 gravestone says Criss Ann (Campground Cemetery, Holmes Co., FL).I'm thinking the middle initial "C" appearing in 1870 is a confusion by the census taker, since Lucretia seems to have usually gone by the nickname "Crissie" or "Cressie" (derived from Lucretia).Does that sound logical?Marlys Pearson*Note: I haven't seen the pension files myself (yet!), am going from what was reported in the French Genforum board as follows:John,I was looking for info on my Robert French who was in Taylor Co FL after the CW. He was age 26 when he enlisted 30 Dec 1863 and mustered out 17 Nov 1865, was 5 ft 7 in tall, complexion, hair and eyes were dark, b Duley GA, farmer.
