Sarah Tucker Pressly 'Sally' Mrs. Pressly, 76, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2008 under the loving care of the Harris Hospice Unit at Presbyterian Hospital. She was born on July 9, 1931 to William Franklin and Isabelle Adams Tucker. Sally attended Central High School, Limestone College and Queens College. She and her late husband George were members of Myers Park Presbyterian Church where they served as youth advisors. She was active in fundraisers in the early years of Charlotte Latin School and was a member of The Charlotte Assembly and The Green Thumb Garden Club. She loved to laugh, tell stories, watch birds, play with her pets, and spend time with family and friends in her home and at her country cabin. In addition to her parents and husband, George William Pressly, III, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Franklin Tucker, Jr. and his wife Azilee. She is survived by her four children, William 'Buck' Franklin Pressly, Sr. and his wife Kathy of Charlotte, Sarah Ellen Pressly and her husband Jack Metcalf of Mars Hill, NC, Elizabeth Leigh Pressly of Charlotte, and George Alexander Pressly and his wife Rebecca of Charlotte; seven grandchildren, Edwin and George Martinat, Tucker, Katie, John, Bo, and Drew Pressly. Sally cherished the time spent with her children and grandchildren. Also surviving are her sister, Bippy Leaf and her husband Paul; sister-in-law, Betty Dale Archer; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank Rob and Emma for their compassionate care and companionship during her later years. Following a private burial, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday June 25, 2008 at Myers Park Presbyterian Church. The family will receive friends following the service in Providence Hall. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to Harris Hospice Unit of Presbyterian Hospital, P.O.
