    Glenn M Kittrell
    Birth: Sep. 3, 1920
    Death: May 10, 1998

Glenn Kittrell, of Twisp, died May 10, 1998, at his home in Twisp.

Glenn was born Sept. 3, 1920, to Vergie and Virgil Kittrell on a farm near Craigmont, Idaho. He grew up in the Craigmont area and graduated from Craigmont High School in 1938. He attended Kinman Business University in Spokane, graduating in accounting.

He moved to Okanogan, in October of 1940, to go to work for a large lumber mill owned by the E. Wagner and son families.

He met Dorothy Price, who grew up in the Pomeroy, Wash., area, and was working as a registered nurse in Okanogan. They were married May 23, 1942, in Okanogan.

Glenn served with the U.S. Army Infantry in the Pacific area from 1944 through 1946. When he was discharged from the Army, he returned to Okanogan and his job at the Wagner Mill.

In February 1949, the mill was moved from Okanogan to Twisp, where the family has since lived. He worked for Wagner Lumber Products until it was sold in 1967 to Biles Coleman Mill in Omak. He worked for Biles Coleman for two years during the transition period. In 1969, an office was opened in Twisp by Kathryn Wagner, former owner of the mill, and since that time Glenn was employed by her and did accounting for several contractors and businesses in the Twisp area as well as being in charge of the Kathryn and Otto H. Wagner Scholarship Foundation.

After moving to Twisp, Glenn and Dorothy opened their home to children and young people who needed a home on a temporary or permanent basis. They had 15 foster children through the years.

Glenn always loved bird hunting and trap shooting and was an expert at training and hunting Labrador dogs.

For 23 years Glenn has been a very active member in Alcoholics Anonymous. He was secretary of the Methow Valley Masonic Lodge for over 30 years. He was a member of the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry of Wenatchee, the El Katif Temple of Spokane, the Eagles Lodge of Twisp, the American Legion and was a former member of the Winthrop and Twisp Kiwanis clubs.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of Twisp; two children, Glenna Eiffert of Twisp and Peter Harold Kittrell of Omak; two grandchildren, Lesa Eiffert of Twisp and Jeff Eiffert of the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Tacoma; one brother, Ross Kittrell of Emmett, Idaho; three great-granddaughters; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Precht's Methow Valley Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
