SHELBY — Mrs. Maebelle D. Greene Ledbetter, 91, of 221 Pleasant Ridge Church Road, died on Friday, September 3, 2004, at Hospice of Wendover.Mrs. Ledbetter was born in Rutherford County.She spent most of her life as a homemaker and worked some in textiles.She was a member of Flint Hill Baptist Church. In earlier years, Mrs. Ledbetter was a member of Allen Memorial Baptist Church in Grover.She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lucy Walker Dobbins; her first husband, Harlan Greene; her second husband, Gilbert Ledbetter; a son, C.B. Greene; a brother Baxter Dobbins; a son-in-law, Robert C, Wright; a stepdaughter, Nellie Sue Weaver; a stepson, Everette Ledbetter; a daughter-in-law Jean Crane Greene.Mrs. Ledbetter is survived by two sons, Pharis Greene and his wife, Elizabeth of Shelby, and Billy Greene and his wife, Ruth, of Cherryville; two daughters, Margaret Wright of Shelby and Helen Leigh of Charlotte; two sisters, Myrle Ownes of Forest City and Juanita Randall of Bostic; grandchildren, Sondra Lowery and her husband, Kim, Christopher Greene and his wife Joan, Darlene Bell and her husband Kent, Keith Biddix and his wife Crystal, Jean Conner and her husband, Danny, Linda Wooten and her husband, Sam, Nancy Kloosterman, Michael Greene and his wife Angela, Dawn Alexander, Robin Short and her husband Greg, Paula Lawrence and her husband Danny, Bruce Wright, Derek Leigh and his wife Sheila, Brian Wright and his wife Beverly, Courtney Greene, Debbie Horne and her husband R.L, Scott Greene and his wife, Sharon; 24 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren; 16 stepgrandchildren and 25 stepgreat-great grandchildren.Mrs. Ledbetter is also survived by her stepsons, Ray Ledbetter and his wife Geneva, Travis Ledbetter and his wife Meldora, Bobby Ledbetter and his wife, Betty, Sherrill Ledbetter and his wife Evelyn; a stepson-in-law, Pete Weaver, all of Shelby; stepdaughter Brenda Bettis and her husband Austell; and a stepdaughter-in-law, Ethel Ledbetter. All are of Shelby.The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Flint Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ed Sessom officiating. The body be placed in the church 30 minutes before the funeral. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
