Was nephew and heir of Philip d'Aubigné (who died s.p., in the HolyLand, 1236, and was buried there) of South Petherton, Barrington, andChillington, Somerset, sometime Warden of the Channel Islands, who gavehim Petherton, of which he had livery, having done homage, 7 December1234. He was not yet a knight, 15 August 1247. Was with the King inGascony in 1253. In 1276 he quitclaimed to the King, for 100 marks, allhis rights in the Honour of Monmouth. He was on the King's service inWales in 1277 and in 1282. He was summoned for Military Service, 14 March1282/3 and to attend the King at Shrewsbury, 28 June 1283, by writsdirected RRadulfo de Albiniaco.
