He was on Sullivans Island when the British fleet invaded SC . Then went with Col. Daniel Horry in a Regiment ofHOrse, then to the Continental Army wit h Gen. Lincoln which lay in Purrysburgon the Savannah River, then to Orangeburg with Col McD onald and Maj. Hugh Horry. THen after the defeat of Gen. Gates, Gen. Marion was passing thr ough thesettlement where I lived and I voluntarily joined him til the end of the war.Bee n in battles at Parker's Ferry and on Waccamaw. Now 72 years old and infirmed.
