A major update of this listing was prepared by Leroy Blair of the White County Historical Society after several trips to the cemetery in October and November 2001. He added 706 names to the list in 2001, then 20 more in late 2002. Earlier work had been done by sisters Louise Bruce and Donna Spells after a survey done by the Beebe Extension Homemakers Club in May 1968. Additions were made by Zelda Dawson of the White County Historical Society based on published obituaries.
This is a large cemetery, very well kept, located on California Street in Beebe. Blair found numerous unmarked graves and stones that had fallen off their base. He speculated there could be "several hundred" unmarked graves in the southwest side of the cemetery.
The cemetery was the victim of serious vandalism on January 3, 2003. The cemetery groundskeeper discovered that 65 to 80 grave markers had been pushed over, broken or otherwise damaged "in broad daylight." Most of the stones were subsequently repaired. Nearly a month later, a Beebe teenager was arrested and charged with felony desecration.
