Z.L. Fraser, 84, of Searcy died Wednesday, May 26, 2004. He was born Aug. 8, 1919, in
Georgetown to the late Delphia and Euna Lee Pollard Fraser. He was a member of the
West Race Baptist Church. A World War II veteran, he served in the U.S. Army Corps of
Engineers. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and loved to fish.

Marguerite Fraser, 82, of Searcy died Friday, April 22, 2005. Born May 26, 1922, in
Searcy, she was the daughter of the late Arnold V. and Ilar Massey Hughes. She was a
member of the First United Methodist Church; founder of Fraser Nursing Home, now
known as Byrd Haven; the founder of New Hope Specialized Industries, Inc., and a strong
community member.
She is also preceded in death by her husband, Z.L. Fraser; two brothers, Roy and Herbert Hughes;
and one sister, Ellen Marie Vincent.
Survivors include one son, John Fraser and his wife Minnie of Searcy; brother, Dr. Earl Hughes
of Little Rock; two granddaughters, Stephanie Paquin and Misty Fraser; and one great-granddaughter,
Leah Paquin.
Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Searcy-McEuen Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, April 25, at Searcy-McEuen Chapel.
Research Notes:
The headstone gives the birth year as 1923. The Obit notice shows 1922. The 1930 census
of White Co, Ar shows her to be 7 years and 11 months old when the census was taken on 29 APR 1930.
This would support the 1922 birth year.
