Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Wylie Brownlee, 93, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at New Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Mike Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends in the church parlor following the service. A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, with the Rev. Charles Todd officiating.
Mrs. Brownlee was born in Chester, a daughter of the late Ambrose Miller and Elizabeth Hardeman Wylie. She was a member of Glenwood A.R. Presbyterian Church in Charlotte, N.C., and attended New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Aiken. She had been a resident of Aiken for the last eight years.
Mrs. Brownlee is survived by her two daughters, Judy (Charles) Todd of Atoka, Tenn., and Kay (Henry) Holley of Aiken; a son, John Bonner (Barbara) Brownlee Jr. of Eads, Tenn.; seven grandchildren, Beth Lee, John Brownlee, Mary Miles, Eleanor Bryan, Earle Holley IV, Lee Holley and Richard Holley; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brownlee was preceded in death by her husband, John Bonner Brownlee.
The family has requested that memorials may be directed to Glenwood A.R. Presbyterian Church, 5024 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208, or to New Covenant Presbyterian Church, 526 Hitchcock Parkway, Aiken, SC 29801.
