Annie Laurie Rowland Edwards, 94, died Wednesday October 6, 2010 at her home near Franklinton following several months of declining health.
She was the daughter of the late Bernie Lee Rowland and Annie Elizabeth Kittrell Rowland. Mrs. Edwards was born February 7, 1916 in the Bobbitt community of Franklin County. She attended Bobbitt public school and was Salutatorian of the Epsom High School graduating class of 1933.
She was active in Home Demonstration Club activities during the 50's and 60's and was an accomplished Homemaker.
Mrs. Edwards was a member of Perrys Chapel Baptist Church for over 60 years where she sang in the choir, lead Women's Missionary Society activities and taught a Youth Sunday Scchool Class.
She was predeceased by her husband, Talmadge H. Edwards and brothers, Robert J. Rowland, Massie W. Rowland and Julian Rowland.
She is survived by sons, Talmadge H. Edwards, Jr.(Betsy), Hoyt L. Edwards (Bonnie), Bernie R. Edwards (Sondra) and Lewis F. Edwards (Joan); six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; as well as many other relatives and friends.
