Burial was in Zion Cemetery of Georgetown, Louisiana under direction of Hixson Bros. of Jena. Mr. Blackshear, 89, of Tullos, Louisiana died at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 1999 in the Veterans Affairs Medical Center of Pineville, Louisiana. He was a Auto Mechanic and a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Edith Mae Allbritton Blackshear of Tullos, La.; one daughter, Minnie Olavee Carter of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one son, Rodney G. Blackshear of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Velma Bradford of Georgetown, Audery Bence of West Miffin, Pa., Laveda Custer of Little Rock, Ark.; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charles Blackshear, Joe Sandifer, Howard L. McCarty, James Allbritton, Jerry Carter and Jim Bradford.

Funeral services for Jessie E. Allbritton will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, 2003, in the chapel of Hixson Funeral Home, Jena, with the Revs. George Treutlein and James Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery of Tullos under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Mr. Allbritton, 83, of Tullos died Nov. 16, 2003, in Heritage Manor Nursing Home of Plano, Texas. Mr. Allbritton was a machinist for City Oil Co., a World War II veteran of the European Conflict and a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Myron, and wife, Brenda Allbritton, of McKinney, Texas; a sister, Vee Johnson of Olla; two grandchildren, Melanie and Tiffany; one great-granddaughter, Shelbie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vonnie Maxwell Allbritton. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, 2003. Pallbearers will be Buddy Williams, James Allbritton, Doug Winberry, Lane Capps, Bob Lurry and Waymon Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be Luther Byrd, Monroe and George Daniels.
