My other question/observation is regarding my greatgrandmother, Mary Kittrell Gibbs, wife of WilliamGilbert (W. G.) Gibbs. I had not seen the name"Edwina" for her until I started working on our genealogy. She has always been identified by mymother as Mary Kittrell Gibbs. I do know that she hada daughter named "Edlena", who lived with her for asmany years as I knew anything of them. Edlena preceded her mother in death. Since the Kittrell andGibbs family seemed to favor family names, I amwondering if the "Edwina" is a misspelling by somecensus taker or some other person documenting names. Mary Kittrell Gibbs's daughter Jennie Eva, mygrandmother and the one for whom I am named, waslikely named for her sister Jennie and hersisters-in-law, Jennie and Susanna Evelyn, called Eva(sometimes spelled Evva). Mary and W.G.'s thirddaughter was Julia, likely named for his sister, also.I will double check with my mother on this, but Edlenalived long enough for me to visit her and Mother Gibbsnumerous times. Both lived in Nashville, on the edge of a golf course, and we always looked for stray golfballs in their yard.Mary Kittrell Gibbs was an accomplished seamstress, doing beautiful cutwork, embroidery, crocheting, andtatting. I taught myself to tat several years ago because of my memories of her sitting in her livingroom rapidly moving a tatting shuttle to makebeautiful lace. When she died she left me her weddingband, the wides band I have ever seen. I never sawher without it on her finger even though she had beena widow for many years.I believe Mary Gibbs and Edlena Gibbs are both buriedat Spring Hill Cemetery located on Gallatin Road eastof Nashville, Davidson Co, TN. The Pitt family is buried there, also. (Jennie Eva Gibbs married CharlieCornelius Pitt).I know I have a four generation photo from about 1941,the year I was born. The photo is of Mary Gibbs, EvaGibbs Pitt, Helen Pitt Tosh, and me. Do you use photos that recent on the site? If so I will scan itand email it to you.I am really rambling now, so will close with a mostprofound thank you for all of the information andphotos you have shared.Evalyn Chapman
