James H. Kittrell, Sr., age 80, of Valpariaso, Fla., went to be with the Jesus, at 3:07 a.m. Wednesday morning July 25, 2007. He will be greatly missed. He was Loved so very much. James passed away at Twin Cities Hospital in the loving hands of Dr. James Derby. James was born in Orangeburg, South Carolina on January 18, 1927. He lived in Ormond Beach, Fla. from the age of three until moving to Fort Walton Beach in 1986. He then lived from 1987 until 1991 in Niceville, Fla. when he moved to Valpariaso, Fla. James retired as the supervisor of the City of Ormond Beach, Fla. Public works after 37 years. He loved to fish and garden but most of all he loved to tell everyone he met about his love for Jesus. He wanted everyone to know how happy he was since he received the Holy Ghost. His desire was for everyone to serve God. As the husband of a Pastor he traveled many miles to help her work for God. They were a great team! James was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Kittrell and his mother, Sadie Kittrell and his precious daughter, Leisha Freeman, brothers, Melvin Kittrell, L.W. Kittrell, and his sister, Arlene Dills. James is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Kittrell; his daughter, Dorothy Ann Gailey; his son, James (Jimmy) H. Kittrell Jr., and his wife, Suzan; his daughter, Karen Jean Miller and her husband, Chris; grandsons, Mark Gailey (Jonette), Mike Gailey (Tammy) and Chris (Buddy) Miller; granddaughter, Sabrinna Kittrell; great-grandchildren, Meghan Gailey, Michaela Gailey, Makenna Gailey; brother, Lewis Kittrell (Mary); sisters-in-law, Mary Miller, Kate Kittrell, Margie Kittrell, Alma Medders, Jean Connell; brothers-in-law, Lester Connell and Rex Dills; numerous nieces and nephews, and their families; and one uncle, Frank Kittrell. Floral arrangements are being accepted. Service is today (Saturday, July 28) at 1 p.m. at Emerald Coast Funeral Home (850) 864-3361, with interment at Beal Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dale Bennett, Stacey Howell, Gary Humphrey, Mark Gailey, Mike Gailey, Al Howell and honorary pallbearer, Allen Rateliff.
