LORIS | Doris Powell Boyd, 71, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, at home afteran illness.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at Hardwick Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Dogwood Hill Baptist Church.
Arrangements will be announced by Hardwick Funeral Home of Loris.

LORIS | Doris Powell Boyd, 71, died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, at homefollowing an illness.
She was born July 25, 1931, in Loris, a daughter of Geverna FullwoodPowell of Loris, and the late J.G. Powell.
She was the widow of the late Earl Lloyd Boyd.
She worked as a secretary with the Carolina Baptist Association for 14years and was a very active member of Dogwood Baptist Church where shewas also president of the Women's Missionary Union.
Survivors include a son, Edward G. Boyd and his wife, Paula, of Loris; adaughter, Gina Boyd of Mount Pleasant; a brother, Merlin Powell and hiswife, Janet, of Rock Hill; three sisters, Sandra Childers and herhusband, Bill, of Loris, Dot Ray and her husband, Joe, of Tabor City,N.C., and June Beasley and her husband, Garland, of Winnabow, N.C.; andtwo grandchildren, Meredith and Andrienne Boyd.
Visitation was Thursday at Hardwick Funeral Home of Loris.
The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Dogwood Hill Baptist Church.Burial will be in Twin City Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The Rev. JimWilley and the Rev. Alvin Jackson will officiate.
