MYRTLE BEACH | Joseph Thomas "Tommy" Edmondson, 70, of Myrtle Beach, diedSaturday, Nov. 29, 2003 at Conway Medical Center.
Born March 8, 1933 in Conway, he was the son of the late Joe and LauraHarrelson Edmondson. Mr. Edmondson was a graduate of Conway High Schooland attended the University of South Carolina.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean war in the QuarterMaster Corps. Mr. Edmondson was a retired Clerk for the United StatesPostal Service and also built and operated the Hurl Rock Golf Course for17 years. He was a Lifetime Mason of the Scottish Rite, Myrtle BeachLodge No. 353, a member of the Omar Shrine in Myrtle Beach, and member ofFirst Baptist Church of Myrtle Beach.
Mr. Edmondson was a very caring and loving husband and father who alsodevoted his time to A Cure in Our Lifetime Breast Cancer SurvivorsNetwork.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Joyce G. Edmondson, and his daughter,Sally Anne Edmondson, both of Myrtle Beach.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, at First BaptistChurch of Myrtle Beach with the Rev. Larry Cashett and the Rev. SteveMarshall officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.Monday, Dec. 1, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach chapel.
