Mrs. Henry Vander Werff died at Mahaska Hospital, Oskaloosa, Thursday, August 19, 1954, at the age of 66 years, four months, and seven days.
She was the daughter of the late Fred Dykens and Cornelia Buitenwerf and was born in the Netherlands, April 12, 1888.
She was united in marriage to Henry J. Vander Werff on September 28, 1909. Mr. and Mrs. Vander Werff became the parents of one daughter and three sons.
She is survived by her husband, her daughter Hattie, Mrs. Louis J. Van Vark, and one son, Alfred, both of Reasnor, and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and twin boys who died in infancy.
Mrs. Vander Werff made confession of her faith in 1911 at the GalesburgReformed Church and became a member there. At the time of her death she was a member of the Third Reformed Church of Pella,; however, becauseof physical, handicaps, she had not been able to attend the worship services for some time.
Funeral services were held Saturday, August 21, 1954, at 2:00 p.m. fromthe Third Reformed Church of Pella. The Reverend Russell J. Redeker officiated and interment was in Oakwood Cemetery, Pella, Iowa. The Pella Co-operative Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.
