Funeral services for Henry J. Vander Werff, 85, of rural Reasnor, were conducted on Oct. 13 at 2 p.m. at the Third Reformed church in Pella. The pastor, Rev. John Benes, officiated. Burial was at the Oakwood cemetery under direction of the Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home.
Henry J. Vander Werff, son of John and Barbara De Haai Vander Werff, was born on a farm south of Pella on Sept. 29, 1882. He attended the Coalport school.
Henry was united in marriage with Anna Dykens near Sully on Sept. 28, 1909. All the years of his life were spent on the farm in the Reasnor vicinity, where he died unexpectedly Oct. 10 at the age of 85 years and 11 days.
Profession of his faith was made at the Otley Reformed church. He was amember of the Third Reformed church of Pella at the time of his death.Henry had served a number of years on the board of the Pella Rural Electric cooperative.
His wife, Anna, died Aug. 19, 1954.
Surviving are two children Hattie, Mrs. Louis J. Van Vark, and Alfred Vander Werff both of rural Reasnor. He leaves six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two brothers, Bert of Pella and Dick of Monroe.
Twin sons died in infancy. The following sisters and brothers are deceased: Hattie, who died at the age of 10 years; Blanche, Mrs. Gerrit De Vries; Neal, Arie, Gerrit and Joe Vander Werff.
