EDNA SPAULDING LAID TO REST AT CONCONULLY
Funeral services for Edna Ellen Spaulding, 75, a lifetime resident of Okanogan county, were held Monday in the Precht Funeral Home. Burial was in the Conconully cemetery. The Rev. Paul Ashbrook officiated.
Mrs. Spaulding was born Edna Kauffman at Conconully November 25, 1890, the eldest daughter of pioneers Lewis and Nettie Kauffman. She attended the Scotch Creek school.
She was married to Marion E. Montaney at Conconully April 10, 1910. Following his death in 1918 she married Levi Spaulding, a widower with three children, at Wenatchee August 7, 1919.
She was a member of the Omak Methodist church, a national member of the Okanogan Grange, a member of the Okanogan County Historical society, the Senior Citizens club and a 75-year member of the Okanogan County Pioneer association.
Surviving are her two sons by her first marriage, Kenneth Montaney of Soap Lake and Leslie R. Montaney of Spokane; three stepchildren, Levi Glenn Spaulding of Sonora, Calif., Mrs. Al (Ethel) Moran of Omak and Mrs. Bob (Beatrice) Brown of Tacoma; and three daughters by her second marriage, Mrs. K. S. (Wanda) Davis of Kamiah, Idaho, Mrs. Charles (Kathleen) Schindler of Spokane, and Mrs. Merlyn (Betty) Jeglum, Omak.
Other survivors include __ grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Clyde Kauffman of Portland and ___ of Bellingham; two sisters __nie Davis and Irene DeW__ of Bellingham, and several nieces and nephews in the Omak area.
