RALPH MONTANYE, Glove Fitter, 81
Mayfield -- Ralph Montanye, 81, of 31 School St., died at home early Saturday following a brief illness.
Mr. Montanye was born and educated in Jersey City, NJ, and moved with his family to Mayfield in 1920.
He was a glove fitter for various glove shops in the area and retired from Winig Slipper Co., 17 years ago.
He was a member of the Gloversville Eagles Lodge, Mayfield Fire Department, and Mayfield United Methodist Church.
Mr. Montanye is survived by his wife, Alice McClary Montanye, whom he married in 1930 in Gloversville, two daughters, Mrs. Marygene Brunner of Schenectady and Mrs. Judith Smith of Charlton; three brothers, Arthur Montanye and Sanford Montanye of Mayfield and Eldon Montanye of Gloversville, and three sisters, Mrs. Edith Bergmann of Gloversville, Mrs. Annamay Tomlinson of Gloversville R.D.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Walrath and Bushouer Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Mayfield United Methodist Church.
