One of myfavorite spots in this immense woodland was a long deserted house thatsat high on the hill overlooking Rocky Run. The house had been ownedby the Robertson family who had operated a sandstone quarry on theother side of the run. There were a number of quarries around thecounty, but this one was a fairly large and profitable operation, thestone from which was used to build the Capitol in Washington. In thelate 1700s William Robertson purchased the land known as the Valentinetract for use as a quarry."
