YOUNGBLOOD, Anna "Ann" Kalamazoo
Passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at Rose Arbor Hospice.
She was born September 6, 1927 in Portage, a daughter of Henry and Anna (Sportel) Kuiper.
Ann was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo and had worked at the Fairmont Hospital and WMU. She loved cooking, fishing trips and watching the birds at her window, but her greatest enjoyment came from her family.
On June 25, 1948, she married Gerald H. Youngblood, who survives. Also surviving are their daughters, Frances "Fran" (Chris) Spitler of Kalamazoo and Marsha (Terry) Williams of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Chad Spitler and Sarah Spitler both of CA., Aaron (JoLinda) Williams of Portage and Eric Williams of Chicago; four great-grandchildren, Madison and Cameron Jan and Haley and Tyler Williams; a brother, Jerry Kuiper; a sister, Harriett DeYoung; many nieces and nephews.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with Minister Scott Burdick, officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 12:00 Noon until service time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Rose Arbor Hospice.
