  Mr. James E. Zietlow, age 74, of Spring Lake, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Heartwood Lodge. Jim was born on July 25, 1938 in Grand Haven, the son of Clyde and Cornelia (Bol) Zietlow. On January 15, 1960 in Grand Haven, he married Marie VandenBosch. Jim retired from Michigan Plastics after 41 years of service. He was a member of Spring Lake Wesleyan Church and had been a member of Ferrysburg Christian Reformed Church for many years. He also served as deacon and was involved with the Sunday school program. Jim enjoyed wood working and participated in many golf and bowling leagues, but mainly loved spending time with his 8 grandchildren and working in his yard and garden. He also had served his country in the U.S. Army. James is survived by his loving wife Marie of 53 years and their children, Jody (Mathew) Johnston of Indianapolis, Indiana, Jim (Deb) Zietlow of Coplay, Pennsylvania and John (Sherri) Zietlow of Spring Lake; grandchildren, Kelsey and Jacob Johnston, Michael, Kyle, Ryan, Ashley, Taryn, and James Zietlow; two great grandchildren, Storm and Rayna Anoai. Also surviving are his sisters, Bonnie (Dale) Dams of Emmaus, Pennsylvania and Ruth (Al) Cheney of Eagle, Michigan; sisters- in-law, Sandra VandenBosch and Nancy VandenBosch of Spring Lake, Pat VandenBosch of Ontario, California as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Noor; sister-in-law, Ann Hockenbraugh; brothers-in-law, Adrian, John and Marvin VandenBosch. The Funeral service for Jim will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 11:00 a.m. at Spring Lake Wesleyan Church with Rev. Dan Ward officiating. Full Military Rites will be performed by the Charles A. Conklin Post #28. Friends and relatives may greet the family on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at Klaassen Family Funeral Home. Interment will be at Spring Lake Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Spring Lake Wesleyan Church or Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
