Funeral services for ftuth W. Johnson, 93, of Buffalo Center were held Saturday, June 26 at 1:30 p.m. at First Reformed Church with Rev. Bill Peake officiating. Interment was in Olena Mound Cemetery with Whiter Funeral Homes in charge ofarrangements.
Music was provided by Marlene Kruii as organist. Vocal music was presented by grandchildren: Karen Carstens, Duane Ites and his wife, Sally. The congregation also sang a hymn.
Serving as casketbearers were Diana Bader, Sheryl Johnson, Eldon Johnson, Duane and Sally Ites, Karen and Duane Carstens.
Ruth Wilhehnina Minnie Johnson was born April 24, 1906 to Herman and Bertha (Huehn) Balvance at Eldora. On December 21, 1927, she was united in marriage to Jake Johnson at Buffalo Center. This union was blessed with three children:Dorothy, Donald and Aria. Together they farmed the same farm until Jake's death in 1958. Ruth then moved to a home in Buffalo Center.
In June of 1972, she moved out to the Ites farm lo live wilh Aria and her children, Duane and Karen. She had lived wilh the Ites family until her health began to fail in April of 1999. After a stay in the hospital,"

"Ruth moved in to Timely Mission Nursing Home at Buffalo Center. She was a resident there until her death on Tuesday, June 24, 1999.
Ruth was a confirmed member of the First Reformed Church of Buffalo Center for over 69 years.
Ruth is survived by her three children: Dorothy Bader and her husband, Robert, of San Bernardino, California; Donald and his wife, Crystal, of Buffalo Center, and Aria Ites of Buffalo Center; five grandchildren: Diana Bader, SanBernardino, California; Sheryl Johnson of Minneapolis, Minnesota; Eldon Johnson of Buffalo Center, Duane Ites and his wife, Sally, of Spirit Lake, and Karen Carstcns and her husband, Duane, of Hampton, and two great-grandchildren, Andrewand Carly Ites. Also surviving is one brolher, Lawrence Balvance and his wife, Edna, of Buffalo Center, a sister-in-law, Josephine Balvance of Buffalo Center; and nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Jake; infant twin brother and sister, two sisters: Marie Hcycs and Sylvia Goetz; two brothers: Ruben Balvance and Raymond Balvance, and a son-in-law, Marvin Ites." <>
