"Robert J. Klaassen, 65
Funeral services for Robert J. Klaassen, 65, were held Monday March 31 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Buffalo Center. Pastor Paul Haugen officiated. Music was provided by organist Vera Bronleewe and vocalist BrianKramersmeier. The congregation also sang. Casketbearers were Steve Andersen, Bill Limberg, ronald Huisinga, Alan Vander Hoeven, Loren Jacobson and Bill Ball. Military rites were performed by the Buffalo Center VFW American Legion ColorGuard. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery in Buffalo Center. Bob passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2003 at Muse Norris Impatient Unit in Mason City. Winter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Robert Joseph Klaassen, son of Klaas and Rosella (Crockett) Klaassen, was born September 9, 1937 at Sibley. He attended Sibley Public School and served in the United States Army from 1956-1959. His employment in the Buffalo Center areabegan with Thermogas. He worked with Shafar Industries figerglass plant from 19865-1986. He began employment with the City of Buffalo Center in 1987, where he worked until his illness disabled him.
Bob was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Limberg on January 12, 1985 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. They spent six wonderful years together before Mary passed away in 1991.
In his lifetime, Bob was blessed with many friends. He enjoyed bowling, golfing and serving in his community. He left wonderful memories with all of those he touched.
Bob is survived by his sister, Karen Vander Hoeven of Woodbury, Minnesota; his niece, Beth Eisenrich, and her husband, Jim, and their family, his nephew, Alan Vander Hoeven, and his wife, Kim, and their family; his step-daughter, NicoleSmith, and her husband, Jeff, and son Caden; his step-son, Jay, and his wife, Holly and children, Adam, Madeline and Lindsay; his cousins, other relatives and many dear friends"
