'Dr. Salsberry - Killed When Aut Struck A Bridge Abutment - Member of County Board - Dr G. R. Salsberry of Lyons, was killed in an automobile accident at Whiteville, two miles west of Metamora at 5:30 o'clock Wednesday evening. He was ona professional call when in some manner his auto crashed into a bridge abutment on the Lyhons-Metamora road near the elevator.

Two boys saw the accident and ran to the auto. By that time Dr. Salsberry had backed his auto away from the abutment. The car was not much damaged and the doctor was not thrown from the car. After speaking to the boys he sank over thesteering wheel. Dr. Heffron of Metamora, was called and arrived a few minutes before Dr. Salsberry died. Dr. Heffron is of the opion that death was caused from an internal hemorrhage resulting from the accident. His chest was notcrushed as first reported.

Dr. Salsberry was in the auto alone at the time of the accident, and no one knows just how it happened.

Dr. Salsberry was one of the prominent physicians and surgeeons in the county. He has been a resident of Lyons and has practiced his profession there for the past 35 years. He graduated from the Detroit Medical Colletge in 1903, andopened an office in Lyons.

Dr. G. R. Salsberry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Isreal A. Salsberry, pioneers of Pike township. He was born on the old homestead farm which he owned at the time of his death, 57 years ago. He attended the public schools in his township,and the Delta high school.

He completed a post graduate course in medicine in New York and was a member of the staff of the Detwiller Memorial Hospital at Wauseon.

He was a member of the County Board of Education and had ben elected to that position for many years.

He was united in marriage to Miss Adelia Noone in 1901 and she survives him.

He is a member of the Masonic Fraternity.

The funeral services will be held from his home in Lyons, at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon. Burial will be made in the Salsberry cemetery in Pike township, on the family lot.'
