"... Mary

Reason:

Book: The Mills Family, 12 generations descended from Pilgrim Simon Mills I - personal history does not contain any source reference and does contain some of the common misconceptions about this couple and William Buell (probably from the spurious intro to the book The Buell Family in America which fallaciously connects William Buell to Huntingsdonshire, England and the Bedell family there, the monument that places William on the ship "William and Mary" despite his not being on any register and that there is documentation that his name was added to the monument because he was one of the original landowners in Windsor not because he there was documentation that he was on the ship and a reference to the copied documentation where Mary's surname is listed as Post? Thomas? indicating that the transcriber was unsure of her name and the reference to "Goode" Buell who may have been either William's mother or his first wife (probably his first wife))

Parents & Siblings

Is her maiden name Post? Thomas? or neither. Please read below "before" submitting an edit that will be declined without documentation.

In the absence of recognized primary or derivative primary sources Mary's parents and/or the maiden name "Post" will not be added to the memorial. There is no evidence, thus far, for Mary's maiden name. (2022) Information from U.S. and International Marriage Records 1560-1900, whose source is pedigree charts is inadequate documentation.

Mary was the widow of William Buel (Bewell). They were married on Nov. 18, 1640 in Windsor and her maiden name was not given.

William left his wife two parcels of land, one by the Gravell Hill and one by the Mill Brook. Mary "Bewell", his relict, made oath 6 Mar 1681/1682 that she had made a true presentment of his estate and the distribution was accepted.

The inventory of her estate was taken Oct. 11, 1684 by James Hilliard & Samuel Barber and amounted to 19-15-06.
Her will dated August, 1684 as follows:
.."to my eldest daughter Mary Mills my Westcoate, Coat, & that Hatt which was Sarah's, & 1 white linen apron, & 1 blue Apron which it is wove";
.."and the rest of my Wool & Linen Clothes I give to my daughter Hannah Palmer, & my Hatt, & 1 pewter Platter, & 1 tin pann."
...."I give to my daughter Hepzibah Welles 6 yards of linen Cloth",
..."& I give to my gr. Child Sarah Palmer Wool Cloth for a Waste Coat, & the rest of my Wool Cloth is to be divided between my daughters Mary & Hannah, & the rest of my linen cloth is to be divided between my two daughters Mary & Hannah, & I give to my daughter Hannah 1 blue apron, & that is all that I give to my daughter."
Mary did not sign her will, but it was witnessed by James & Mary Hillier. Administration granted to son, Peter Buell.

Name, Parents, and Birth date and place are not known or verified. All that is known of this person is her first name, her wedding date, her spouse, and her death date and place. Many sources attached to this record belong to Mary Post, who died in England in 1635. Her brother immigrated to the American Colonies but she did not come with him. This Mary is not the daughter of Abraham Post of England."
