"CLARA JOSEPHINE FRICK
Clara Josephine Frick, 83, of Ashton died November 24 at Osceola Community Hospital.
The Daughter of Frederick and Anna (Delatron) Kampmeyer was born April 2, 1906 in Pittsburgh, PA. She moved to Ashton in 1924 where she worked in different homes.
She married Meindert (Mike) Frick, of Ashton, February 15, 1928. He preceded he in death in June of 1974. They farmed outside Sibley.
Her parents, four brothers, a sister and a grandson also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Frick was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Ashton where she was a member of various ladies groups of the church.
Survivors include: a daughter, Mrs. George (Anna Marie) Schipper of George; a son, Mike Frick and a daughter-in-law Jeanne of Sibley; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Louis A. Federlien of Pittsburgh, PA.
Services were held Nov. 27 at First Presbyterian Church in Ashton with Rev. William Martin officiating. Burial was in Gilman Township Cemetery, Ashton.
Funeral arrangements were handdled by Andringa Funeral Home of Sibley."

Clara was born on April 2, 1902 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She had 2 sisters and 4 brothers. Her mother died when she was 8 years old and her father, being unable to care for the 7 children alone, placed them in an orphanage where Clara remained until she came to Iowa to live with relatives. Mike and Clara are the parents of two children, Anna Marie (Mrs. George Schipper of George, Iowa) and Mike, married to Barbara (Jeanne) Niichel, of Ashton. They have 13 grandchildren and 20 great- grandchildren. Mike and Clara farmed southwest of Sibley, Iowa until they retired in 1965 and moved to Ashton. Mike died June 29, 1974 and Clara died November 24, 1989. They are buried in the Gilman Township Cemetery at Ashton, Iowa."
