Johann "John" Heetland was born on November 1, 1854, in Oldersum, Ostfriesland, Germany. He came to America with his parents and sister, Elstena (Harberts), when a young lad. The family settled ast [sic] Ridott, Illinois, and later moved to Ackley, Iowa.

It was at Ackley that John married Wilhemina "Minnie" Ukena. Minne was born in Walle, East Friesland, Germany on September 6, 1861, The couple settled at Germania, farming south of town for many years.

John and Minnie were parents of Johanna, Tena, Minnie, Jerry, John, George, Elstena, Ethel, and Louis.

John died in 1926, and Minnie in 1941."

Johann "John" Heetland was born on November 17,1854, in Oldersum, Ostfriestland, Germany. He came to America with his parents and sister, Stina (Harberts), when a young lad. The family settled first at Ridott, Illinois, and later moved to Ackley, Iowa.

It was in Ackley where John married Wilhelmina "Minnie" Ukena.

Minnie was born in Walle, East Friesland, Germany on September 6,1861. The couple settled at Germania, farming south of town for many years.

John and Minnie were parents of Johanna, Tena, Minnie, Jerry, John, George, Elstena, Ethel and Louis.

John died in 1926 and Minnie in 1941.
