"LaVonne (Hansmann) Molitor 1933-2002
LaVonne Julie Mae "Toots" Molitor, 69, of Sibley, Iowa, died on Sunday July 14, 2002 at Country View Manor, Sibley.
Born May 22, 1933 in George, Iowa, she was the daughter of Alford and Alvina (Siebrands) Hansmann. She married Marvin Small on Sept. 20, 1950, in George. After a marriage of about ten years they divorced, and she moved to George.
On February 14, 1962 she married Theodore Molitor, in George; they lived near Sibley.
She grew up and attended schools in the George area. After her first marriage they farmed in the Ocheydan and May City, Iowa areas, before moving to George. For a short period of time they also resided in Excelsior. She began working at Associated Milk Producers Inc. In Sibley.
In 1974 she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. In 1989 she became a member of Country View Manor in Sibley. She was previously a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, George, and later Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sibley.
Surviving are her husband; three sons: Dale Small. San Francisco, Calif., Duane Small, Riverside, Calif., and David Small, Austin, Texas; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and four step-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Marlyn.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sibley, with Rev. William Flemr officiating. Burial will be in Holman Township Cemetery, Sibley. Walton-Roste Funeral Home, Sibley, is in charge of arrangements.
