Funeral services for James Ralph Mastin, 92, were held Wednesday, March 10 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Earth, Minnesota. Rev. S. Bohling, Rev. Kenneth Carlson and Rev. Gary Terrio officiated. Interment was inRiverside Cemetery in Blue Earth. James passed away Saturday, March 6, 2004 at the United Hospital in Blue Earth. Patton Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Blue Earth was in charge of arrangements.
James Ralph Mastin, son of James K. and Lydia P. (Spencer) Mastin, was born January 8, 1912 at Buffalo Center. He was raised and attended Country School near Buffalo Center. On December 6, 1933 he was united in marriage to Esther B.Bosma at Buffalo Center.
James worked as a farm hand until 1936 when he started farming on his own. Ralph and Esther farmed in the Blue Earth-Elmore areas until retiring in 1975 and purchasing a home in Blue Earth. They spent their winters in Arizona until Estherpassed away in 1995. On January 29, 1998 he was united in marriage to Pearl Kerstiens at Mesa, Arizona. Pearl passed away later that year. ..." <>

James is survived by his sons: Roger and his wife, Julene Mastin, of Elmore, Minnesota; Kenneth and his wife, Iona Mastin, of Blue Earth; daughters: Donna and her husband, Reynold Anderson, of Blue Earth; Sharon and her husband, Carl Vincent, of Plymouth; Janice and her husband, Elgene Darnell, of Cross Lake, Minnesota; Judy and her husband, Alan Albrecht, of Maple Grove, Minnesota; nineteen grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; one cousin, Mattie Bowers, of Buffalo Center who was raised as a sister. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, William P. Mastin"
