They moved to a farm northeast of Buffalo Center where they farmed for many years. In 1932they purchased a farm south of town. This family was blessed with seven children: ...Jennie passed away on October 12, 1932. thus leaving Ehme with six children to care for. Funeral services for Aeilt Brass, 78, of Buffalo Center were held Saturday morning, June 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Buffalo Center with Rev. Merle Hoots officiating. Interment was in Olena Mound Cemetery with WinterFuneral Home in charge of arrangements. Military Rites were conducted by both the American Legion and VFW Honor Guard. Mr. Brass passed away Wednesday, June 14, 1989 at United Hospital in Blue Earth, Minnesota.
Casketbearers were Ronald Brass, Darrel Steen, Robert Frerichs, Gene Brass, Don Haisman, and Tim Berschman. Mrs. Vera Bronleewe was the organist and music was provided by Pastor Hoots and Wayne Bronleewe who sang a duet, and soloist GaryMeyer.
Aeilt Brass was born March 27, 1911 in Winnebago County on a farm near Buffalo Center, Iowa to Ehme and Jennie (Fischer) Brass.
He received his education at the Buffalo Center Community School.
Upon profession of his faith in Christ, he was baptized and accepted into membership of the First Baptist Church.
On January 14, 1947 he was united in marriage to Clara Buseman here in Buffalo Center and together, farmed in this area for several years. After retirement they moved into town in 1972.
He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He also wprked several years for Holland Implement in Blue Earth, Minnesota..
Aeilt is survived by his wife, Clara; one daughter, Audrey and her husband Leo Kastenmeier of Wells, Minnesota; one brother, Eddie and his wife Henrietta Brass of Lakota; two sisters, Minnie and her husband Bill Steen, Jennie and herhusband Nanne Frerichs both of Buffalo Center; one brother-in-law Albert Frerichs also of Buffalo Center, and one sister-in-law, Lillian Brass of Garner.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Weird and William; and one sister, Alice Frerichs." <>
