Dear sister [Mary Elizabeth Walsh née Bowles], just a line to let you know I am well hope you are the same I received your most welcome letter and the $ ok the war will be over befor leslie [Leslie James Walsh] has to come to france I hope I see frank [possibly Frank Bowles] if he comes over here Ill find him if I can and give him a few pointer I saw one of the boys from Cleveland I am glad Mother [Emma Mary Bowles née Thornett] looks good I may see her once more befor she kickes in tell Dorothy [Dorothy Margaret Walsh] I got her letter OK also Jimes [possibly James Leslie Walsh] I guess Ill have to ring off for now with best of luck to you all give all my regard to all the boys
