Robert William Boekelman was born on October 15, 1923, in German Township, near Titonka, Iowa, to John and Maggie Rippentrop Boekelman. He received his education at the German Township country school near Titonka. After his schooling,Bob helped his family on the farm. On February 10, 1947, Bob was married to Audrey Johnson at Rake.
Bob and Audrey farmed the home place north of Titonka until Bob's retirement in the fall of 2005.
Bob was an active member of the Titonka United Methodist Church, where he had been church trustee and was active in the Youth Mission Team, spending time for ten summers in Oklahoma on the Indian Reservations. ...
The family enjoyed the annual Johnson family reunion campouts, first held in Boone, Iowa and then in the grove on their farm.

"Audrey [Angeline] Boekelman
January 25, 1924 - March 4, 2016
Audrey Angeline Boekelman was born January 25, 1924 to John and Bertha (Olson) Johnson in Rake, Iowa. Audrey grew up in Rake where she attended school and graduated from Rake High School. After high school, Audrey worked at Penny's department store in Blue Earth.
On February 10, 1947 she was united in marriage to Robert Boekelman. Together they raised three daughters; Nola, Rhonda and Laura. The couple farmed for many years in Titonka until retiring in 2005. Throughout the years she also drove the Titonka school bus part time.
Audrey was an active member of the Titonka United Methodist Church, the UMW and youth mission trips. She enjoyed gardening, baking Norwegian treats, traveling, puzzles, and making lefsa every fall with her granddaughters. Her greatest enjoyment, however, was her family. She enjoyed watching her daughters and grandchildren participate in sports and other activities.
Audrey died on Friday, March 4, 2016, at the Titonka Care Center in Titonka, Iowa. She was 92.
Audrey is survived by two daughters: Rhonda Vinsand of Dakota City, Laura (Doug) Phelps of Titonka; a son-in-law Norm (Mary Beth) Cooper of Titonka; grandchildren: Brock (Dana) Cooper; Maggie Cooper; Amy (Chris) Schommer; Jason Vinsand; Andrea (Rob) Hinton; Jenna (Scott) Vinsand; Janel (Chris) Cocherell; Scott Phelps and Carrie Wubben; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Sorenson of Manhatten, Kan.; and a sister-in-law, Lois Boekelman of Titonka.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert; her daughter Nola; a son-in-law, Ronny; brothers, Art and Lawrence Johnson; sisters, Agnes Gunderson, Bernice Engebretson, Louise Skogen and Avis Weringa.
Services were held on Monday, March 7, 2016, at the United Methodist Church in Titonka, Oakcrest Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.oakcrestfuneralservices.com."
