Margreta Hanna-Steen, age 87 of Thompson, Iowa died Monday, July 18, 2005 at Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23 at the First Reformed Church in Buffalo Center withPastor Bill Peake. Burial will be at Grant Lutheran Cemetery, rural Woden. Visitation is Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Winter Funeral Home in Buffalo Center and will be one hour before the service at church.
Margetta Steen, daughter of Henry and Mary (Smith) Albers, was born in Woden, IA, on May 7, 1918. On May 23, 1936 she was united in marriage to Milford Hanna. To this union three children were born, Roger, Larry, and Glenda. She was ahomemaker and also worked at the canning factory in Bricelyn, Samuelson Cafe and Horswell's Potato Farm in Thompson. Milford passed away in 1975. In July of 1976 she was united in marriage to Louie Steen and they made their homesoutheast of Buffalo Center. Louie passed away in 1980. Since then she lived in both Buffalo Center and Thompson until she became a resident of Timely Mission Nursing Home in Buffalo Center.
She is survived by two sons; Roger and wife, Dorie, of Albert Lee, MN; Larry and wife, Irene of Sumner, WA and daughter, Glenda (Kramer) Ackerman of Buffalo Center, IA. One grandson, Scott, five granddaughters, Charlene, JoDee, Tonya,Brenda and Dawnita, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; one brother, Ernie Albers, from California and one sister, Mable Kadlecik, of Buffalo Center, IA, and many nieces and nephews. Margreta was preceded in death by herhusband Milford, and husband Louie. Also by her parents, four grandchildren and five brothers." <>
