John M. Bond, 90, of Crossville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at Saint Thomas Hospital in Nashville, TN.
He was born Feb. 15, 1926, in Richmond, KY, son of the late Charles Bond and Nellie (Wilson) Bond.
John worked as an executive for Underground Utilities, and was also as a funeral attendant at Bilbrey Funeral Home for many years. He was a member of the First Christian Church and also proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the World War II. He will be missed by all of his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughters, Mercedes Lawrence, Crossville, and Martha (David) Loar of Ohio; and son, Guy (Reva) Bond of Florida. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Josephine Bond; sister, Margaret Pugh; and brothers, Ernest Bond, Bill Bond, Wilson Bond, Harold Bond, (twin) Bob Bond and David Bond.
Memorial services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Bob Kastens and Bro. David Loar officiating. Interment in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Memorial donations in John's name can be made to the Cumberland County Animal Shelter.
