LifeSketch: Very little is found in traditional birth and marriage records this far back. However, there are several books that give information on this settler McIntosh. Some disagree a bit from the following posted on Ancestry.com (I will be adding book references to these early McIntoshes):thorpe brought the "Highland Rangers" to Georgia on the Prince of Wales, sailing on October 18, 1735 arriving January 19, 1736. Benjamin was among this group of Scottish Highlanders recruited by James Oglethorpe to settle in Georgia. These Highlanders, recruited from the vicinity of Inverness, Scotland, were to serve as defense against the Spanish in Florida. They with their wives, children, and indentured servants sailed from Scotland on the ship, Prince of Wales, in October of 1735. therine McIntosh, age 45; two daughters, osh, age 21 of Dores, farmer; and Roderick McIntosh, age 19 of the Highland Rangers.lsewhere, perhaps on his son's, John McIntosh's land among the Creek Indians in what is now Alabama.[or on son, Lachlin's property near Charleston (Edisto).
