Notes: Milly appears in the 1900 U. S. census with Martin V. as "Millie A." with a son named David A. Tower, 26 years old.
I think that she was Millie Ammons(1860 census, Pike Co., Al, 18 years old (b. 1841-42), father John Ammons, 48,farmer, mother Margaret, 47, she is the oldest child with brothers and sistersRandal, 17, Nicy J. 15, James H. 13, William J. 9, and Martha E. 4.
I think that she married a John Tower during the Civil War and had a child, (David) in 1863 while Martin Boswell was away at the war. I have no idea who John Tower was or what happened to him but I think that he died or left and in 1865, just after Martin returned from the war she married him. The 1870 Pike Co. census, August 24, 1870, Hilliard's Crossroads beat, lists "family # 91, Van M. Boswell,28, b. in Alabama (wrong), farmer, wife Milley, 29, born in AL, son William L.Boswell, 2 (born about 1868, which jibes with marriage), and David A. Tower, 8(born about 1862-63), Martins' step-son.
It appears that later they had a daughter Lula who married Lorence?? Bethea and maybe another daughter Callie, of whom I have as yet found no record.
